GREENVILLE, S.C. — South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson was the first candidate to announce his intentions to run for governor.
Now, in his first “one on one” with WYFF News 4 as a gubernatorial candidate, he shares some of his visions for the state if he were at the helm, and how his 15 years as the state’s top prosecutor and his experience as a combat veteran make him “ready on day one.”
“I love this state and I love its people, and this is something I’m very passionate about. The challenges of leadership afforded to the office of governor is something I feel like I am well situated for, having led soldiers in combat, having led prosecution teams, and having led the office of the AG, I am ready for the next challenges that the Office of Governor may give me,” Wilson said.
The GOP primary isn’t until June of 2026, but Wilson was eager to get out in front, saying his “vast experience” and the trust he has earned from the majority of South Carolina’s law enforcement set him apart from others in the race.
