‘Law-and-order governor’: Midlands sheriffs back Alan Wilson for South Carolina’s top job

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has received endorsements from three Midlands sheriffs as he continues his campaign for governor.

At a press conference on Thursday, Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon, Saluda County Sheriff Josh Price, and Chester County Sheriff Max Dorsey announced their support for Wilson’s candidacy.

Sheriffs Koon, Price, and Dorsey said they were “proud” to endorse Wilson, given his experience and leadership as the state’s attorney general.

I am going to be the law-and-order governor,” Wilson said.

I believe I am uniquely qualified to be the pro-law enforcement governor South Carolina needs.

Wilson officially announced his intention to run for governor on June 23, entering the 2026 South Carolina gubernatorial race.
