MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson joined News 2’s Brendan Clark for a wide-ranging conversation on WCBD+ as he campaigns for the Republican nomination for governor.
Wilson discussed his position in current polling, his experience as attorney general, and the priorities he says would guide his administration.
During the conversation, Wilson said he is satisfied with his campaign’s standing and emphasized that the only poll that matters to him is the primary vote scheduled for June. He pointed to his 15 years as the state’s attorney general, leadership of a large statewide legal office, creation of the state’s human trafficking task force, expansion of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and work on victims’ services as key accomplishments that prepare him for the governorship.
He also highlights his 30 years of service in the Army National Guard and two combat tours in Iraq.
