South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has joined a bipartisan coalition of six state attorneys general urging the president and the federal government to prioritize fentanyl money laundering on messaging apps as a national security issue, his office announced on March 23.
According to a news release, the coalition — which includes the attorneys general of North Carolina, Colorado, Kentucky, New Hampshire, and New Jersey — is pressing the administration to work with Chinese Government counterparts to address Weixin, the China-based sister app of Wechat that operates outside the reach of U.S. law enforcement.
