Attorney General Alan Wilson files for South Carolina governor race

COLUMBIA, S.C. —

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has officially filed to run for governor, announcing his candidacy in Columbia Thursday morning.

Wilson has been attorney general since 2011, making him the longest-serving attorney general in the state’s history. He was re-elected in 2014, 2018, and 2022.
