COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson is joining a legal fight over expanded red snapper seasons in the South Atlantic.
Wilson’s team announced that he signed onto a brief filed in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., supporting special experimental fishing permits (EFPs) granted by the National Marine Fisheries Service to Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Those permits allow the states to run research projects tied to red snapper populations and lengthen the recreational red snapper season.
