(WACH) — South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson on Tuesday praised the state Senate for unanimously passing legislation to strengthen penalties for child exploitation offenses.
The bill, S.723, would increase mandatory minimum sentences for people convicted of creating and distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
The bill also establishes new, leveled mandatory minimum sentences for possession of CSAM, with longer sentences for those found with more images or videos.
