COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson and state Sen. Mike Reichenbach announced the Family First Audit Initiative on Tuesday.
The press conference took place in the first-floor lobby of the South Carolina State House at 11 a.m.
The proposal would give the lieutenant governor a new leadership role focused on improving accountability and efficiency in state government.
If elected, Wilson says the lieutenant governor, Reichenbach, would oversee independent performance audits of state agencies, aiming to promote fiscal responsibility and a more proactive approach to government oversight.
Reichenbach’s background in business and auditing would be key to improving state government performance, according to Wilson’s campaign.
